Suzane Rhee Brown


Executive Director and Head of US Philanthropy
Morgan Stanley

Suzane (Soo) Rhee Brown is the Executive Director and Head of US Philanthropy for Morgan Stanley. In her role she oversees the Community Affairs department and manages the Morgan Stanley Foundation with the Global Head of Philanthropy. She is also responsible for designing many of the Firm's employee engagement programs such as Divisional Philanthropy Committees and Year-Round Partners, the Charitable Spending Account (a unique Firm matching program), and US Regional Grants in addition to managing the Morgan Stanley Strategy Challenge (the Firm's signature pro-bono volunteer initiative in partnership with the Global Sustainable Finance Group). Externally, Ms. Rhee Brown helps manage the Firm's ongoing relationship with Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and other partner organizations in keeping with Morgan Stanley's Global Alliance for Children's Health initiative.

Her areas of expertise include fundraising, grantmaking, internal communications, and employee engagement programs. In 2012, Ms. Rhee Brown was also selected as one of Morgan Stanley’s “50 Rising Stars” amongst female Vice Presidents in the U.S. Outside of work, Ms. Brown has served on the Steering Committee of the Korean-American Community Foundation, the core leadership of Redeemer's Center for Faith & Work, and Astoria Community Church. She is currently involved in fundraising and admissions efforts for St. Lawrence University and on the board of the Association of Corporate Contributions Professionals (ACCP) chairing the Programs & Services committee. She received her B.A. in Environmental Studies and Sociology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. and her Masters in Public Administration from New York University's Wagner School of Public Service. Ms. Brown resides in northern NJ with her husband and is expecting her first child this year.
